Color Picker Support
Color Picker identifies the area inside a movable camera target and shows a simple English color name with an honest confidence warning.

Allow camera access
If camera access was denied, open iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and enable Color Picker. You can also tap Open Settings in the app.
Improve an estimate
Lighting, glare, camera settings, and surrounding colors affect the estimate. Tap an unobstructed point in the camera view to move the target, choose a sampling size that keeps one color inside it, hold the phone still, add light when the scene is dark, and change the camera angle when glare appears.
Scanner controls
- Target size: use the three square buttons on the right edge to choose a smaller or larger sampling area.
- Lens: use the buttons on the left edge to switch between available physical rear cameras.
- Pause and resume: tap the center button below the result to lock the current reading, then tap it again to resume live analysis.
- Torch: add light on supported rear cameras. Confidence is temporarily lowered while the camera adjusts.
- Reset: tap the top-right reset button to center the target, restore the middle size, resume scanning, turn off the torch, select the 1× camera, and restore automatic camera settings.
- Camera controls: tap the bottom-right AUTO button for exposure compensation and individual exposure, focus, or white-balance locks. Use Reset to Auto when conditions change.
- Point lock: long-press an unobstructed point in the preview to meter and lock exposure and focus there without moving the color target.
Action Button
On a supported iPhone, choose iPhone Settings → Action Button → Shortcut → Identify Color. Only the device owner can assign the Action Button.
Offline and private
Color Picker works offline, processes frames on the device, and does not save photos.
The result estimates how a color appears under current lighting. It is not a measurement of an object’s intrinsic “true color.”
